Pre-debut

Pre-debut Jimin

Park Jimin was born on October 13, 1995, in Busan, South Korea, where he developed an early interest in performance, particularly dance. During middle school, he trained at Just Dance Academy, where he learned urban dance styles such as popping and locking.

He later entered Busan High School of Arts, where he specialized in contemporary dance and was recognized as one of the top students in the modern dance department. A teacher encouraged him to audition for Big Hit Entertainment, after which he moved to Seoul to become a trainee and transferred to Korean Arts High School.

This combination of hip-hop foundations and formal contemporary training would later become a defining element of his performance identity, distinguishing him from many idols trained primarily in one system.
